Greetings,

Christmas is just around the corner and I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2022.

ART STUDIO VIBES

Alcohol inks with top coat of resin workshop

I had the pleasure to host an alcohol inks resin coaster set workshop last week.

Julia and her daughter Irene, a dynamic creative duo, wanted to share in a fun activity that they could do together to create a new memory.

It was an opportunity to make a coster set as a keepsake to proudly display in their own home.

Julia's theme colours were strongly influenced by her Croatian heritage. She used the tricolours of red, white and blue (which appear on the national flag).

Irene went for coastal colours reflecting her love of the sea and nature.

Archibald Prize - regional tour

I had the opportunity to attend the 'Archibald Prize - regional tour' at the Gippsland Art Gallery and it sure was a treat for art enthusiasts.

My top three picks from the exhibition were as follows:

. The portrait of Rachel Giffiths (Artist: Natasha Bieniek) is only 13.5cm x 18.5cm using oils, the amount of detail in the artwork is extraordinary.

. The portrait of Firass (Artist: Jeremy Eden) using oils had so much realism, the eyes were mesmerising, a focal point for the viewer.

. The portrait of Fozzy (Artist: Julian Meagher) really got my attention due to the expressive brush strokes and the warm colour palette.

The Art of Annemieke Mein

I also had the chance to see 'The Art of Annemeike Mein' showing at the Gippsland Art Gallery.

My faviourite textiles were the dragonfly series and 'Splash'.
