KangaFineArt Newsletter: November 2021

Greetings,

It's such a relief that we are all out of lockdown and can go and visit our family, friends and to start leading a normal life again without so many restrictions.

The creative art scene is a buzz of interesting exhibitions to go and see within the Gippsland region.

ARCHIBALD PRIZE 2021 - REGIONAL TOUR

I'm so excited to have a ticket for the 'Archibald Prize 2021 regional tour' at the Gippsland Art Gallery in Sale.

We are so priviledged to have this oldest and most prestigious portrait art award in our region. I can't wait to see the amazing collection of works and support local businesses.

THE ART OF ANNEMIEKE MEIN

I will also take the time to look at 'The Art of Annemieke Mein', an Australian textile artist who specialises in depecting wildlife such as birds, frogs and dragonflies in her own unique sculptural style.

Annemieke Mein uses silk, wool and fur to create these nature pieces and uses numerious techniques like dyeing, applique, quilting, felting and weaving to get the three-dimensional creations in her works.

OUR ENTRIES - A COLLECTION OF PAST ARCHIBALD ENTRIES FROM GIPPSLAND ARTISTS

Another event which coincides with the Archibald Prize 2021 regional tour, is 'Our Entries - a collection of past Archibald entries from Gippsland artists'.

I attended this exhibition over the weekend at the Rosedale Mechanics Hall, Rosedale. It's open every weekend from 10am to 5pm until 21 November 2021.
